In Memoriam Patricia A. Kallioinan 1939 - 2016 A Christian funeral service for Pat, who died on Wednesday, November 16 was conducted from our sanctuary on Monday, November 21. Her loving survivors are one son, one daughter, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister and three brothers. Pat was baptized, confirmed and married here at Grace Church (ali conducted in the "old sanctuary"). She continued to be a faithful member of Grace all of her life. Because of failing health, Pat resided in Grass Lake, Ml with her daughter for the past several years. We give our thanks for her life here on earth and for her eternal life in heaven. Her final resting place until the Lord's return is Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park, Livonia. Edith Klemm 1924 - 2016  A funeral service for Edith who died suddenly on Friday, December 16 was conducted from our Sanctuary on Tuesday, December 20. Her loving survivors are two daughters, three granddaughters and eight great- grandchildren. Edith was born in East Prussia Germany and lived there until her early twenties. She moved here to our City of Detroit and raised a family and worked both as a housewife and outside of her home in the accounting field. She joined Grace Church after living in Gladwin for many years. Edith was a faithful member of Grace, a member of our Women's Ministries and was in worship the Sunday before she went to be with her Lord. Shirley A. Schuman 1925 - 2017 A Christian funeral service for Shirley was conducted from our Sanctuary on Monday, February 20, 2017. Her loving survivors are two daughters and one son, a brother and a sister. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley, together with her late husband Carl, was a faithful member of Outer Drive Faith Lutheran Church in Detroit until joining Grace Lutheran Church in 1991. They remained active throughout their 26 years membership. Carl preceded her in death in 1997. Upon graduation from High School, Shirley worked for Nash Kalvinator but following her marriage she was a homemaker. For the past several years failing health has kept her from worship and she was ministered to by her Pastors. Elsie O. Martin - 1926 - 2017 A private committal service for Elsie, who died on Monday, February 13 was conducted at Glen Eden Lutheran Cemetery on Wednesday, February 22. Her loving survivors are two sons, two daughters, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Elsie was born and raised in Alpena, MI. Upon moving to the Detroit area after her marriage, she became a faithful member (together with her husband Warren until his death) of Grace Church for over 50 years. Our prayers go out to the family. In the past five years she has been ministered to by her pastors at her senior living apartment and finally at the nursing home where she has resided for the last two years. Dorothy A. Guntzviller - 1945 - 2017 A Christian funeral service for Dorothy, who died on Tuesday, June 6, was conducted from our Sanctuary on Saturday, June 10. Her loving survivors are her husband Jim of 51 years, three sons, ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren five sisters and one son who preceded her in death. Dorothy was a hard worker. She worked for Presbyterian Village in Redford, Redford Union Schools, Moore Roofing and also here at Grace Church. She was a faithful member of Grace Church and, along with Jim served for a time on our Church Council. She and Jim enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and traveling, seeing all 48 mainland States of the United States and several foreign countries. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and members of Grace Church. Gloria J. Clark - 1927 - 2017 A Christian funeral service for Gloria who died on Tuesday, June 13 was conducted on Monday, June 19. Her loving survivors are 1 son, 2 daughters, 6 grandchildren and a brother. Her husband Harry and one son preceded her in death. Throughout her life Gloria had many part-time jobs, always keeping busy between work and being a mother and a grandmother. She was a faithful member of Grace Church since 1959 and up until recently was able to attend worship with her family. Anne F. Robinson - 1925 - 2017 A Memorial Service for Anne who died on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 was conducted from our Sanctuary on Friday, August 18th. Her loving survivors include one daughter, one son, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a brother and one sister-in-law. Anne was born in Windsor, Canada and, as a child, moved here with her family to the City of Detroit. She worked for Michigan Bell until her marriage to the late Ivan. They joined Grace Church in 1949 and both were active in their worship life. Anne enjoyed traveling and many other activities. May the Lord bless this family. Inurnment will be at a later date at Glen Eden Lutheran Cemetery. "Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life." Revelation 2:10
