In Memoriam 2014 Margaret D. Meitz (1916-2014) Erwin (Rick) Price (1924-2014) A memorial service for Rick, who died on Thursday, March 20, was conducted from our sanctuary on Saturday, April 5. His loving survivors are his wife Arlette, of sixty-four years, three sons, three daughters-in-law, ten grandchildren and three great­ grandchildren. Rick served our Nation in the Navy during WWII. Upon his return to Michigan he attended and was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan, earning his engineering degree. He was employed as an engineer for the Ford Motor Company for over thirty years. He, together with Arlette, joined Grace Church in 1961 where he served on the Board of Elders and Church Council for many years. May the Lord continue to comfort this family. George A. Valrance (1936-2014) Ellsworth H. Schanerberger (1924 - 2014) A funeral service for Ellsworth, who died on Friday, June 27, was conducted from our sanctuary on Wednesday, July 2. His loving survivors are his wife of 67 years, Audrey, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 7 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren. A daughter preceded him in death in 1993. "AI" was employed at the Ford Motor Company and was an analyst and committee officer for the American Society for Testing and Materials. He proudly served in World War II; a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and recipient of many medals. He was a member of Grace Church for over 50 years and he attended worship the week before he died. Our prayers go out to God for Audrey and their family. He was laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery in Livonia. Carrie Johnson (1923-2014) Eleanor Boot (1920-2014) Walter J. Dorf (1921 - 2014) A Christian funeral service for Walter, who died on Monday, September 1, was conducted on Saturday, September 6. Walter's loving survivors include one son, two daughters, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other family members, friends, and his fiance, Estelle. Walter was employed at Ford Motor Company for 42 years, working up the ranks from tool and die to becoming purchasing agent. He loved golfing, fishing and hunting. Walter, together with his late wife Ida who died in 1999, was a faithful member of Grace Church for over 50 years. For the last several years he was ministered to at his condo and nursing home by the Pastors. Barbara Franz (1930-2014) Ruben Bjerkness (1917-2014) A Christian funeral service for Ruben, who died on Tuesday, September 23 was conducted from our sanctuary on Tuesday, September 30. His loving survivors are a sister, one step-son, twelve nieces and nephews, one grandson and two great­ grandsons together with many other extended family members and friends. Ruben was preceded in death by his first wife Anna and his second wife Terri. He was a proud veteran of World War II and served our nation for five years. For many years Ruben lived at Fox Run Retirement Village in Novi where he was ministered to by the Pastors. Burial was at Glen Eder Lutheran Memorial Cemetery. Richard A. Juranek (1925 - 2014) A funeral service for Richard who died Tuesday, November 18, was conducted on Thursday, November 20. Richard and his late wife Joann were faithful members of Grace since 1955. They were confined to their home for many years and were ministered to by their Pastors. Richard was a veteran of World War II. Their son Richard, Jr. who has been confined to a wheel chair for some thirty years is also ministered to at their home. His loving survivors are his daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Michael Scherger, (loving caregivers and members of Grace), his son, Richard, Jr., one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. “ I am the Way, the Truth and the Life ...
